FAQs

  • What are lash extensions ?

Eyelash extensions are synthetic hairs that attach to your natural lashes one by one to give you

    added length and density.

How long do they last ?

They can last up to 6-9 weeks before they are totally gone but if you’d like to maintain them we recommend coming for fills every 2-3 weeks or when your lashes reach 40 % of the full set.

    Do they damage my lashes?

When applied and removed properly extensions cause no damage. Eyelash extensions are applied .5-1 mm away from the eyelash line in a 1:1, one natural eye to one individual extension or fanned extensions. Straying from this application in conjunction with poor aftercare can result in damage.

Why are my lashes not lasting ?

Not cleansing lashes will cause them to fall out prematurely due to oil and skin build up. If you have a faster growth cycle you may lose lashes faster.

Why are my lashes losing their curl?

In high temperatures some lash brands can lose their curl. Some that take hot showers or cook often may experience this. Solution: try warm showers not hot or goggles in the shower.

    Why are my lashes synged?

If you are a smoker and bring the lighter close to your face you can synge your lashes. This can also happen when opening a barbecue or oven. Solution: try to wear glasses to protect them during this time.

Why are my lashes not lasting on one eye?

Most often when this happens you tend to favour that side of your face when you sleep causing friction and lashes to fall off. Solution , try to sleep on your back.

Why are the base of my lashes white?

This happens when the lashes over cure. This can occur if you can wet them too soon or if you have your air conditioning blasting directly following your appointment. Solution: wait 24 hours before getting wet and keep air conditioning on low-medium.

Why are my lashes sticking together?

This may happen from not cleansing enough or thoroughly. Oil from your skin causes them to bunch up. If they are sticking in clumps they were not done with proper isolation.

What are my lash extension options?

Lash extensions come in three main application techniques: classic, hybrid and volume.

Classic is a one natural lash to one extension ratio, giving a very natural mascara like look.

Hybrid can be interpreted differently by many artists , traditionally a mix between classic lashes and volume fans giving a soft but textured look. Hybrid can also be volume lashes applied in a classic technique to give a very soft natural look.

Volume is very fine or thin lashes grouped together creating fans differing from 2D- 5D. This gives the lashes more pigment and density.

Mega volume is creating fans from 5D and up.

As for length and thickness the lashes can be customized entirely.

    What does it feel like?

This process is painless, you will have to have your eye open for a minute or two in direct lightfor gel pads and tape application, which some can find uncomfortable. If you are claustrophobic you may experience it during this service being that the technician is placed behind you and hands will be resting on the face. Most guests tend to fall asleep or find the service relaxing. If you open your eyes during the service you may feel slight discomfort from adhesive. As long as you follow your technician’s guidance this process should be seamless.

    How long is the service?

Depending on the lashes you chose , classic , hybrid , volume or mega volume the times will vary. Expect to be at least an hour and half , up to two and half hours.

  • What is waxing?

Waxing is a hair removal technique that uses a warm sticky honey like wax with a cotton  or muslin strip to remove both hair and wax or a resin based “hard wax” that cools to the  touch and when removed the hairs and wax entirely from the skin. Both waxes are used  in the salon depending on the area you’re waxing.

When is the best time to be waxed?

The best time to be waxed is after a shower, after you have exfoliated 24 hours prior to the  service, come moisturizer free. Ideal hair length shall be 5-10mm about the length of a grain of  rice, anything shorter hair may not be removed, longer and it may cause more discomfort.

    What is a Brazilian?

A Brazilian is a wax removing hair from the entire area that would be covered by a bathing suit  or underwear.

    Can I modify my Brazilian?

Absolutely, you can modify it if you’d like to exclude any hair from being waxed or would not like  an area done.

What do I wear to a wax appointment?

Ideally wear something comfortable that does not hug the area(s) you are getting waxed.

    Does it hurt?

Yes, the first time is the worst time. But everyone has different pain tolerances some rate it a 5  of 10 and some would say higher, either way the pain only lasts seconds and the overall service  is fast!

What kinds of wax do you offer?

We offer both soft strip wax and hard wax. Soft strip wax has a higher melting point ideal for  people without any sensitivities. Hard wax has a lower melting point and solidifies quickly  creating an ideal removal of hair for people with sensitivities or in sensitive areas.

  • What is a lift and tint?

A lift is a semi permanent perming service formulated for your eyelash. What this achieves is  more visibility and lift to your natural lashes. A tint is the processes of pigmenting your natural  lashes for more visibility.

    How long do they last?

The tint gradually fades over the course of three weeks, but the lift portion can lash up to eight  and twelve weeks.

    Do they damage my lashes?

When applied correctly this service causes very minimal damage. Over processing of the lift can  cause lashes to appear “ hooked”.

    What are my options?

There are different curls or levels of visibility you can choose from the longer your natural lashes  are the more curl options you have. If you decide after the service that you desire more we can  explore lash extensions as an option.

Do I have to get a tint?

No! If you are a tried and true mascara lover and will continue to wear it following the service  you can exclude the tint.

Do I have to get a lift?

No! If you don’t like the idea of the lift and would prefer to just add pigment instead you can  absolutely do so.

Why are my lashes falling or not curled?

On the rare occasion you have very strong lashes, the lift solution hasn’t processed for long  enough to cause the lashes to fall faster than usual.

Why are my lashes not as visible as I wanted?

Next time you receive the service you can ask your technician if they could use a form for higher  visibility and go over in more detail what your expectations are.

    What does it feel like?

This process is painless, you will have to have your eye open for a minute or two in direct light  for gel pads and tape application, which some can find uncomfortable. If you are claustrophobic  you may experience it during this service being that the technician is placed behind you and  hands will be resting on the face. Most guests tend to fall asleep or find the service relaxing. If  you open your eyes during the service you may feel slight discomfort when we attach your  lashes to the form but it only lasts a couple minutes. As long as you follow your technicians'  guidance this process should be seamless.

    How long is the service?

A lash lift and tint takes approximately forty five minutes to an hour start to finish.

  • What is a brow lamination?

A brow lamination is a process similar to lash lift in the sense that you are perming the hair to  have more visibility and pigment , in this case the brow hairs.

    How long does it last?

A brow lamination can last four to six weeks if taken care of properly.

    What does it feel like?

This process is painless, you will feel being brushed frequently.

  • What is a facial?

A facial is the process of cleansing and treating the skin on the face for relaxation and overall  skin health.

    What happens during a facial?

All facials vary in products and procedures but essentially we cleanse , exfoliate , moisturize,  and massage the face , neck and décolleté.

    Who can get facials?

Anyone can get a facial! They promote overall skin health ideal for anyone looking to enhance  their natural skin.

    Why get facials?

Facials are the gateway to skin health. You can achieve many different results such as radiance  and glow. The sooner you start taking care of your skin the better. Most want to reverse signs of  aging (pigmentation, fine lines or wrinkles) but the secret is to actually prevent them before they  happen.

What kind of facials do you offer?

We offer three facials : Refresh, Relaxation and Treatment.

Refresh is suitable for someone who has never had a facial or it has been some time since their  last service.

Relaxation is similar to the refresh facial but has an extended massage as well as includes an  arm massage.

Treatment facials are usually for guests that are looking to improve on a specific skin concern  such as acne, pigmentation, anti aging, firming and so on.

All facials are customized to each guest with the option for additional services such as a  relaxation back treatment, additional massage to the feet, arms and head.

  • Do you use shellac?

I do not use shellac, shellac is a brand name as well it is a hybrid of gel and polish and or  lacquer. Gel polish is its own formula that has similar longevity to shellac but does add more  strength.

    How long will it last?

A gel manicure can last up to three weeks when cared for correctly.

    Why did my nails chip?

If you are rough with your nails and in water frequently you may need added strength and  durability to your gel manicure, ask your technician what your options are.

    What is a gel manicure?

A gel manicure starts with a dry prep manicure to shape your natural nails to the desired shape  and length, remove excess cuticles and prepare the mail plate for gel application. Following the  gel application the service ends with a moisturizing cuticle oil and hand massage.

Can you do a water manicure and gel together?

We do not recommend introducing water to a gel manicure because water swells the nail plate.  If we apply gel over a swollen nail plate as the water evaporates and shrinks the gel polish will  peel off due to it being larger than the dry nail.
